Army Deserters Responsible For Mogadisho Violence Will Reintegrate SNA

At a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble at the Galmudug President’s residence, the decisions of the technical committee tasked by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble to resolve the recent crisis in Mogadishu were announced.

The terms of the agreement reached this afternoon in Mogadishu.

1. That all troops who arrived in Mogadishu during the crisis be returned to their bases and leave the city within 48 hours from April 5th.

2. That the rights of these forces, such as: salaries, ranks and responsibilities, are not affected by the violence in Mogadishu and that no action can be taken against them.

3. To resolve separately the Officers with special circumstances, such as: Ranks, Salaries and other Military Rights.

4. Build trust between security agencies and politicians with security concerns.

5. That the Prime Minister issue a decree instructing the commanders of the Armed Forces.

A. Not to get involved in politics.

B. Not to issue orders that could lead to security and political unrest.

6. Appoint a committee of military experts to advise the Prime Minister on the reform of the national army.

7. The Armed Forces should not be used for political purposes and should not be interfered with.

8. That all parties refrain from actions and statements that may provoke violence and hatred.

9. Return of vehicles and weapons confiscated during the fighting in Mogadishu and release those arrested.

10. The Prime Minister and his Government shall be responsible for the implementation of these provisions.
