President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has made changes at the top of the army as it faces setbacks in the all-out war he has declared against
#Alshabab.
Brigadier General Madey Nurey Sheikh was appointed Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces.
Colonel Dayah Abdi Abdulle, who was previously a member of the
#Gorgor commando forces, was promoted to major general and appointed as the new commander of land forces, replacing Brigadier General Ahmed Aden Ali appointed to the post in June.
A press release from the President's office said that every Somali citizen, civilian and military, today faces a heavy responsibility in the liberation of the country. The President praised the sacrifice of the Somali armed forces and people in ridding the country of this terror organization.
